We have always ordered Colonade Pizza. Today, regrettably we must say goodbye to this fabulous pizza. My daughter and I usually order take out. We decided to sit in for our lunch. The waitress is very familiar with our 'special' requirements (hot oil, parmsean cheese and red peppers). We ordered two beverages and appetizers, my daughter ordered the 'small' Julienne salad without green peppers and I ordered the Zucchini strips. Both were delicious! We then ordered a small pizza with mushrooms, olives, pepperoni and bacon. The waitress said 'ah yes, the Canadian with olives'.
To our surprise the waitress had charged us for a small Pepperoni with extra mushrooms, bacon and olives at 1.50 per ingredient for a total of $14.45. We decided to question why the pizza was more expensive than a three item combo, wherein she explained we had the full order small Pepperoni and the extra items. We felt this was unacceptable because we did not notice an abundance of Pepperoni, nor any of the other ingredients. It appeared to be a small pizza with the usual amounts of items. We also challenged her to the cost of the small Julienne salad. The menu price quoted $5.95 but the bill stated $6.95.
To all our queries the waitress responded with 'it's not my fault we haven't updated the menus, I have no button for a combination and I am not the owner'.
Quite frankly all her comments were simply excuses. We have decided to write this review and sadly will no longer buy pizzas or anything from this establishment. Our recommendation to you the returning patron and the possible new patron is to carefully question the waitress on your order, be sure the menu is now updated and check your bill!
